Massimo Pizzi Gasparon Contarini


Born in Venice in 1969, the Italian stage director, set designer and costume designer graduated in architecture from the University of Venice. In 1989, he began collaborating with the renowned Piero Luigi Pizzi as assistant set designer and assistant director on numerous opera productions staged at leading international theatres.

As a stage director, set designer and costume designer, he has created a wide range of opera productions, including works by Monteverdi, Puccini, Verdi, Bellini, Rossini, Gluck, Tchaikovsky, Porpora and many other composers. His productions have been presented at opera houses and festivals in Genoa, Wexford, Savona, Salerno, Naples, Trieste, Macerata, Toulon, Oviedo, Cremona, Osaka, Tokyo, Lecce, Piacenza, Modena, Ravenna, Lima, Mexico City, Venice, Palma de Mallorca, Menorca, Buenos Aires, Masada and Tel Aviv.
