Alexandru Pilca


Alexandru Pilca embarked on his formal training at the Bucharest Choreography High School, where he graduated as top student in his class. Further enhancing his skills, he pursued additional studies at the Vienna State Opera Ballet School. Alexandru’s early achievements are First Prize at the National Juniors’ Ballet Competitions in Romania in both 2006 and 2007, First Prize at the National Seniors’ Ballet Competitions in Romania in 2008 and 2009. His talents transcended national boundaries as he claimed the First Prize at the YAGP 2009 Semi-Final competition in Ravenna, Italy that led him to the finals of the YAGP 2009 Seniors’ competition in New York. In 2014 he won the Third Prize at the Tallinn International Ballet Competition.

Alexandru performed at the opening show of the Vienna State Opera’s 2010 – 2011 season. Subsequently, he continued his artistic journey as a Soloist at Teatrul de Balet Sibiu from 2011 to 2014 dancing productions Don Quixote, City Beat, Giselle, and many more.

He further evolved in his career as he joined the Ballet of the Slovene National Theatre Maribor. Here, he took on various roles in productions like Swan Lake, La Fille Mal Gardee, Nutcracker, La Sylphide, Les Liaisons dangereuses, Carmen, Romeo and Juliet, Eugen Onegin, Death in Venice, Zorba, Left Right Left Right, Stabat Mater, Peer Gynt, Walking Mad, Kekec and many more.
