Opera Night is one of the most recognizable open-air concert events in Slovenia: an evening when opera steps out of the theatre and among people—into an open space, beneath the sky, into an environment where classical music breathes differently. The concert, led from the very beginning by conductor Simon Krečič, Artistic Director of the Opera of the Slovene National Theatre Maribor, brings together the Symphony Orchestra, the Opera Chorus, and opera soloists in an experience that is at once festive and relaxed, refined and accessible.
What makes Opera Night special is not only the quality of its performance, but also its social impact: the concert is regularly attended by large audiences, bringing together all generations in one place—from devoted opera connoisseurs to those encountering live opera for the very first time.
