Trio Tempestoso, founded in Graz in 2017 and now based in Berlin, is one of the most distinctive chamber ensembles of its generation. With its unusual combination of clarinet, accordion and cello, the trio – winner of the Boris Pergamenschikow Prize (2019) and the Dwight and Ursula Mamlok Prize (2022) – creates a surprisingly vivid orchestral sound world. Its repertoire ranges from arrangements of classical works by Haydn, Ravel and Stravinsky to contemporary compositions written especially for the ensemble. The evening brings an encounter of colours and temperaments rarely heard in chamber music, always poised on the border between tradition and the search for the new.
