In the opera La Bohème Giacomo Puccini (1858–1924) presents young artists of 19th century Paris in their idealistic search for success and their total devotion to art and love. The touching drama, confronting the recklessness of the young bohemians with the cruel reality of life, focuses on the story of the tragic love between the young poet Rodolfo and the fatally ill Mimi. It doesn’t surprise that nowadays La Bohème ranks among the most performed operas. It’s beautiful music tells the moving love story where love, jealousy, fiery passion, grief and hope interlace.
